G42 backed Inveniam acquires private markets tokenization firm Hedgehog

tokenization rwa real estate infrastructure

Private market data firm Inveniam has acquired Hedgehog, a white label investment solution for tokenized real world assets (RWA). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. With this acquisition, Inveniam is moving beyond data to provide a solution for structuring, trading, and distributing private assets.

While the transaction was announced yesterday, it was agreed late last year, shortly after Inveniam received substantial backing from UAE-based AI firm G42, bringing Inveniam’s total funding to $120 million.

Inveniam’s data offering

Inveniam was founded in 2017 to generate real time data for private assets such as real estate, private equity, private credit and infrastructure. It has been using blockchain to store the data for several years and says the volume of assets on its platform is nearly $65 billion.

The sort of data Inveniam generates is critical for a tokenized world where private assets are traded more regularly. It provides a ‘Valuation as a Service’ which is likely to increasingly use AI and be used by AI. Another of Inveniam’s major backers is Cushman & Wakefield, one of several real estate firms that have added data to its solution, alongside accountants and other subject matter experts. Fund administrator Apex led one of Inveniam’s earlier funding rounds and integrated its data with its administration platform.

Inveniam has now integrated Hedgehog with its systems. The UK founded Hedgehog shares a similar vision to Inveniam regarding the tokenization of private assets and the potential for distribution to private investors. Hence, it developed its whitelabel solution to enable asset managers to tokenize and distribute assets to their private wealth clients, amongst others.

“This acquisition is not about incremental efficiency—it’s about foundational transformation,” said Patrick O’Meara, Chairman and CEO of Inveniam. “With the Hedgehog team—comprised of multidisciplinary professionals with deep expertise in private markets, technology development, and blockchain solutions—we are able to scale our business more quickly. In addition, by integrating their existing infrastructure tools for tokenizing and distributing real-world assets, we are building the rails for digital, crypto, and cloud-based trading of alternative asset classes globally.”
