Shortly before Christmas last year, Blythe Masters resigned as CEO of enterprise blockchain company Digital Asset. Today the company announced that COO/CFO and co-founder Yuval Rooz will step up to the CEO role. In his COO role, Rooz was responsible for hiring the majority of the company’s executive leadership.
Before joining Digital Asset, Rooz was Senior Algorithmic Trader at DRW Trading which is run by Don R Wilson who is also a co-founder and board member of Digital Asset.
Executive Chairman and acting CEO AG Gangadhar commented in an internal email: “I have had the privilege of working very closely with Yuval over the past year. Along with the rest of the Board, I feel very strongly that Yuval’s strategic agility, business acumen, mission-driven orientation and deep belief in our people and products make him uniquely qualified to lead Digital Asset successfully into the future.”
Gangadhar added. “This is a very exciting time for our company and I am encouraged by the significant progress we are making on several fronts.”
Rooz is also credited with helping to build the company’s relationship with the Australian Securities Exchange where it’s building a replacement clearing and settlement system. Last year the launch date was pushed back to 2021 following feedback from market participants.
