TRM Labs has closed a $70 million Series C funding round valuing the blockchain intelligence firm at $1 billion. Blockchain Capital led the round, having previously led the company’s pre-seed investment in 2018.
The funding drew participation from major traditional finance investors including Goldman Sachs, Citi Ventures, Brevan Howard Digital, DRW Venture Capital and Thoma Bravo, all returning backers. New investor Galaxy Ventures joined alongside other returning participants CMT Digital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Y Combinator and Alumni Ventures.
TRM Labs will use the capital to expand its team of AI researchers, data scientists and engineers, while developing AI powered solutions for compliance operations and investigations. The company has averaged more than 150% annual revenue growth over the past five years.
